We stand firm in the belief that even the most practical garments should be exquisitely beautiful. From the essentials to our statement pieces, each piece is meticulously made to combine practicality with grace and sophistication. We collaborate with skilled artisans who bring a wealth of expertise to the creation of each garment. Their commitment to precision and attention to detail elevates every piece.

Founder Krystell Barraza works closely with mills from around the world to curate and develop the textiles used in our collections. Krystell, a Chicago native founded her eponymous label in 2016 after studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and working with a demi-couture brand in London.  Her aim is to create a wardrobe of clothing that is appropriate for different facets of the wearer’s life, yet unified in its attention to detail. Each collection is inspired by a particular place, whether this is a place in time or a physical location, and made so that each piece can be cherished for years, and reinterpreted to express the individuality of the wearer.

To further our pursuit of sustainability, we partner with collaborators that care about the environment as much as we do. Our denim is washed with 90% harvested rainwater, in a facility that is at the forefront of discovering new methods to lessen the carbon footprint of the production process. We also create limited edition runs with our remnants and vintage fabrics.

We collectively acknowledge that what we now know as Chicago is the unceded homeland of the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations. Many other tribes, such as the Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, and Sac and Fox, also called this area home, where our studio, and the entirety of the Chicagoland area is situated.
